10. BOOT the computer you want to reformat, LAN Boot first. (Check your BIOS settings)
11. Leave everything at its default setting until you come to the DOS prompt.
12. Repartition your hard drive using FDISK by typing FDISK on your DOS prompt.

16. Press "Enter" to continue through the rest of the questions, accepting their default values.
Enter the command "format c:/Q" once you get to the command prompt. Enter the command "net use
x:\\YOUR-COMPUTER-NAME\winxp" once the format is complete. Replace
YOUR-COMPUTER-NAME with the computer name you wrote down

17. Change directories by typing "x:" then "SMARTDRV.EXE." Change directories again by typing "cd
i386," then type "winnt" to copy the files from the shared folder onto the hard drive, beginning the

  3. DID NOT WORK!

I can connect to the target, but when I tell it to run SMARTDRV.exe it says "bad command or file name". I can switch to the drive "X:" but if I run "dir" command it says "File not found" there...

    Anybody else had this problem?
    Any ideas?

    1. Please check your command it should be :

      "net use x:\\YOUR-COMPUTER-NAME\winxp"

Replace YOUR-COMPUTER-NAME with the computer name you wrote down or the HOST's Computer name
